The city smells like wet concrete after a November rain. I stand on the corner of 5th and Main, looking at a storefront that the digital grid says does not exist. This is the glitch. A physical business with a real sign, real customers, and real dust on the windows, yet Google Maps has erased…
I view Google Maps as a dispatch system. To a logistics manager, every business listing is a proximity beacon in a spatial database. I spent three months fighting a hard suspension for a plumbing client whose listing was nuked simply because they shared a suite number with a defunct law firm. Google did not want…
The 20-mile radius is not a circle on a map; it is a battleground of spatial data where your proximity beacon determines your survival. Many service professionals believe that setting a large service area in their dashboard is enough to capture leads from two towns over. They are wrong. The algorithm treats distance as a…
I spent three months fighting a hard suspension for a plumbing client whose listing was nuked simply because they shared a suite number with a defunct law firm. I smell the wet concrete of a city that never sleeps and the exhaust of…
The smell of wet concrete always reminds me of the day the maps went dark for a client in downtown Chicago. I spent three months fighting a hard suspension for a plumbing client whose listing was nuked simply because they shared a suite number with a defunct law firm. Google didn’t want proof of a…
The pavement outside the storefront is wet. I notice the reflection of the neon sign in a puddle before I look at the actual glass. This is how Google sees your business. It does not look at your front door; it looks at the digital reflections. When your clicks drop, it means the reflection is…
